Southern Livin'

Howdy ya'll! Today was absolutely beautiful and I couldn't help but take advantage of the gorgeous scenery I found at the barn today. I have always been a cowgirl at heart, so this style of clothing is right up my alley. I decided to slip on some rugged cowgirl boots, some high-waisted shorts, a french-inspired tank, and a jean button-up shirt that plays on the "all-American girl" vibe. Since jean button-up shirts (especially asymmetrical styles) and high-waisted shorts are thriving right now, I decided to grab these easy looks from a local thrift store and cut and modernized them into something new :) By cutting the high-waisted pants into flirty shorts, and by cuffing the jean button-up shirt into a sweater, I was able to create a great girl-next-door look.

Where to Wear This:
Ladies, this casual summer look is great to wear out and about with friends, off to lunch, or better yet, off to the barn like me ;) Rocking the red, white, and blue adds a fun, spirited look  during the summer, especially around the 4th of July! So start collecting these easy staples into your closets so you're prepared to work it all summer long :)
kisses, Em

Bring Me Spring!

Hello again loves! I have missed you all! School's been quite busy for me but don't think that I ever forgot about you! ;) The 70 degree weather has been beautiful lately and has got me hyped for spring and summer. So I just couldn't help myself but dress accordingly and give you a taste of what's going to be suppaa hott this summer! I decided to pair an orange button-up top (since it's still a weee bit nippy outside) and cuff the sleeves to look a little more "laid-back." Feel free to do this to any of your button-up tops, whether they are dressy or not, they will both work great! High-waisted shorts are allll the buzz right now and we are definitely going to be seeing much more of them this coming season. I paired mine with an indian inspired belt, gold jewelry, and some fabulous, chunky heels that add a fun and hip flair to my outfit. Chunky, platform heels are also very trendy right now and are going to head well over into the summer weather, so make sure to grab a pair next time you're out and about! Go ahead and stretch your comfort zone and feel free to play around with lots of color!

Where to wear this:
This is such a fun, flirty outfit to wear just about anywhere, especially during the summer! Whether you're out with friends or out to lunch with that special someone, there really aren't many limitations on where you can rock this! So start collecting these essential summer pieces so you're ready for summer and are the most admired girl in the crowd :) You won't be sorry!

Crimson

Crimson red is always a fun color to play around with in style. Whether is symbolizes love, beauty, or sex-appeal, there is always something alluring about it. I decided to transform this crimson red look into a more relaxed, boho-style with a bit of an edge. Bright, colorful pants are very trendy right now and really add a fun spunk to your outfits. By matching the pants with the same color top, a pull-over button down, and some great (must-have) combat boots this look is immediately transformed into a simple but hip style. Who doesn't love an easy-breezy look that draws the eyes? ;)

Where to wear this:
The great thing about this outfit is that it is so easy to wear just about anywhere. Thanks to the accessibility of the multi-layering, you can easily pull off the sweater and button-down for warmer weather and vise-versa. I love the easy and carefree spirit this look entails because it really allows you to rock this when going off to school, out with friends, to a movie, etc. And remember if you feel like the crop top is a bit too revealing, you could always wear a fun tank instead or just button the shirt up and you're ready to go! :)

Cat Woman

Hola fashionistas! Is anyone else super obsessed with furs like me? Faux furs, of course ;) I just snagged this great little cheetah print coat from a vintage store and am LOVING it! Cheetah prints are so fun and stylish to play around with, and can really give an everyday outfit a lift with some spunky purrrrrsonality (sorry, had to do it ;)) When using cheetah prints though, always remember that too many spots can be a little too overwhelming--so keep your outfit clean and simple, with a statement cheetah print to glam up your look.

Where to Wear This:
Personally, I rocked this outfit on one of those, I-just-want-to-feel-fabulous days and loved every second of it! This is one of those fun, simple looks that you could wear out on a hott date, off to a girls night out, shopping out and about, or just because (like me!) :) Feel free to let that inner cat woman out and work this look with confidence. Cheetah prints always give off a fun, sex-appeal so I promise you you'll be feeling sexy and powerful with this fierce look! Top off your fit with a killer gold collar and some great sunny's and you're ready to conquer the world. Go rock it ladies!

Quite a Sight in Black & White

Hellooo my fellow trend-setters! Want to know a HUGE tip for wearing the latest and greatest fashion?? This year has been all about mixing the old with the new! Whoever said "out with the old, in with the new?" Because it should really be, "combine the two!" Great outfits are all about styling and mixing great, old vintage pieces with new, hip clothes which will mark any great trend-setter as a confident fashionista. For the old, I decided to rock a vintage white blazer with 80's RayBans and my great-grandmother's vintage purse! Then for the new, I threw on my new black, sheer blouse with a striped black and white vest on top, black booties, and clunky jewelry and TAA DAHHHH! A classic outfit was born :)

Where to wear this:
This classic ensemble is great for a business meeting/interview, or for just look straight fabulous while vintage shopping (like me) on a fun sunny day. Girls keep it classy and sassy and throw on a red lip to wow your admirers and finish off the look in style. Feel free to wear your hair in a fun top knot bun to look classy and distinguished, or let that mane flow wild and free like me ;) Messy curls and waves are always sexy and cute, so feel free to let your locks fly! Remember that classy never goes out of style, so rocking this kind of outfit will only make you look fabbbbulous :)
kisses, Em

Black Out

So today I totally felt like rocking black from head-to-toe. Not only is black slimming, but it's also so elegant, especially sheer! Sheer tops and sheer, flowy skirts are SO in right now and are an amazing way to transform your everyday outfit into a beautiful, feminine one. I intermixed a summery look with ankle booties and a long-sleeve sheer button down to act as my thin, but comfortable "sweater."

Where to Wear This:
This outfit is great for an easy, breezy summer day and can be easily layered to create your very own "winter-look." The color black is such a fun color to bulk on the jewelry with, so accessorize away ladies! Either pop a fun color to your dark outfit or throw on some fun, chunky silver (or gold) jewelry like me and keep it clean and simple. Remember to never shy away from wearing all black! I promise you'll be looking classy, elegant, and divineeee in this sweet little ensemble :)

Red HOT

This season, blazer's have been allll the buzz. Bright colors are so in right now and adding a fun color to your normal, demure outfits really spices things up. Make a POP in a statement red blazer such as this and pair with some fun, chunky jewelry (the chunkier the better!) to look super "in the now." Reds and golds always look fab together especially over the holiday season, but who says it has to stop there? Rock this fit and turn heads all winter long :) Have fun!

Where to wear this:
I personally wore this at school today and got tons of compliments on this great blazer. Wanna know the secret?? Rip off old, cheap buttons and replace with more fun, statement buttons to enrich your look and wow your friends. Just a quick stitch and BAM! Wardrobe update complete. The buttons can be matching or better yet, be a collection of mix and match styles that accentuate the other and your whole outfit. Looks nice right? :)
Feel free to rock this look at school, out to lunch with friends, or even off to a job interview! Trust me, you'll be looking red HOT! ;)

kisses, Em
